Here is round two of my series on how to find great indie t-shirts on the internet! A recap on what an indie shirt is, for the uninitiated...

indie t-shirt - noun - an indie t-shirt, sometimes referred to as an indie tee, is a t-shirt of such awesome nature that it has been proven acceptable for indies and hipsters alike. Indie t-shirts are often ironic and witty, though they don't have to be. Artsy t-shirts and band shirts are acceptable as well!

Threadless

Threadless is one of the most popular t-shirt sites on the internet. All of their shirts are independently designed by users and voted on. The top t-shirts are printed and sold! Here you can find some amazing humorous indie t-shirts, as well as prints for your wall!

Fullbleed

Brought to you by the makers of YourSceneSucks.com, Fullbleed is an independent t-shirt design house that's filled with some great tees. Though some shirts are borderline emo, your indie self can rock them with no worries.

Finding Indie T Shirts in the Wild

So you've hit up Etsy and Shirt.Woot. They didn't have what you want, not tees weren't indie enough for you, what ever. Don't worry, I have plenty more online stores up my sleeves.

But for now, I'd like to stray away from ironic indie tees, and talk to you about vintage apparel. Vintage tee shirts, are great for several reasons. One, they are indie as all get out. Two, they cut down on environmental waste.

Where to buy vintage? The answer might surprise you if you haven't shopped vintage before.

Thriftshops.

Thriftshops such as Goodwill and Salvation Army tend to have some vintage tees. But you have to check early and often to find them before the other hipsters do! There may also be some independent thriftshops in your area.

Vintage indie t shirts include, but are not limited to: old sports team tees, mission trip tees, event tees. All old, all indie.

One of the best places to find independently designed tees is on the internet! There are literally TONS of sites that offer strange and unusual t shirts for your indie fashion, and man is here to help you weed out the truly indie from the commercialized garbage!

Etsy

Etsy is a great site for finding ironic t shirts! Folks from all around the world post their handmade apparel (as well as many other products!) on Etsy, so everything is unique! You won't face the humiliation of seeing a fellow hipster wearing your incredibly unique t shirt if you shop at Etsy! Clothing here is a bit expensive, but when you purchase handmade you have to pay a premium!

Shirt.Woot

Woot offers cheap, unusual shirts with a different one posted every day! With free shipping and independently designed shirts by their users, Woot is a always a good choice for your indie tees!

Like I've mentioned before in my other blogs, Indie Lumberjack and Indie Flannel, indie fashion is in vogue!!

The indie essentials are pretty obvious, and easy to purchase. Vans/Converse for shoes, skinny jeans, flannel, vintage apparel, etc. But the t-shirts are harder to come by. T-shirts are a dime a dozen, and can be purchased everywhere... but how does one know if a tee is indie or not? Well don't worry, man is here to help you out.
